From a very early age, Puigmartí shows an interest in plastic arts. Thus, his first exhibition takes place in 1944 with his father in Castelltercol at the age of 11. Not long after then, in 1956, he offers his first solo exhibition at the prestigious Syra Galleries in Barcelona, where he exhibited several times. The very next year he began his tour around the five continents, performing exhibitions in all of them.

In 1989 he returned to Spain and settled in Sitges, where he, nowadays, lives and works.
